Michel Amathieu is a famous French director of photography who has worked with notable directors like Jan Kounen, Emir Kusturica, Mika Kaurismaki, Agnieszka Holland and many more director's that are used to the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival.
His journey into cinematography began with the film Argie, which premiered at Cannes in 1984, following a career shift from mathematics teaching.
After studying at the prestigious Louis Lumière French cinema school, Michel's creative lighting has left a lasting impact on numerous feature films including Jan Kounen's Dobermann, Emir Kusturica's Chat Noir, Chat Blanc (part of), and Life is a Miracle, as well as Mika Kaurismaki's I Love LA.
He has also worked on acclaimed series like Versailles and Braquo. Most recently, he contributed to the American series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and worked on the third season of Foundation.
